I just noticed that in version 2.0.2 they have removed attribution badges ~ really good call guys! ~ and they now allow a single starting term to provide narrow results for optimization as well as an auto research function to provide broader results for research. If you have several writers who know their subject, know how to write but don't know SEO, its well worth a look.

SEO doesn't typically work that quickly with Google. Also its very hard to prove cause and effect, but unless that backlink was from a PR 10 website and instead of 3 days, you meant 3 months, I don't think it moved anything.

Hello,
i'm new to this whole SEO thing, and i've built a website for promoting of a product. Beceause of the good domain name i used my website was placed on the 2nd page of google if you search for the keywords i was aiming for.

But i want to get my site on the 1st page of google, so i've checked some websites of the people i compete with, with SEO Spyglass to check from which sites they have backlinks with high pageranks. And i wrote an article with a backlink to my site on the website. Also i wrote some comments with my backlink on some .edu websites which don't have comment moderation.

Now it is 3 days since i posted the backlinks, and some of the pages where i got my backlinks from are already indexed on google. But when i check my google webmaster tools it doesn't recognize any links to my website. Also SEO rank tracker does not find any backlinks to my website.

Am i just to impatient? Should i wait for a couple of weeks? Or am i doing something wrong? Anyone got an idea ?
Thank you for your answers, they all have been a great help. It's been a week now since i started making backlinks to my website, and the first one just appeared in SEO spyglass. Just with one backlink i moved 3 positions up in the search results, and now my website is displayed on the bottom of the first page.
